PRE-AMBLE
These terms and conditions govern the agreement between the Student (you), and Alpha Driver Training ABN 12 526 249 001 of 53 Santa Monica Avenue, Coolum Beach, QLD. By booking a single lesson and/or purchasing website package deals or special offers with Alpha Driver Training, you are bound by the terms and conditions.
MEANINGS OF WORDS
In this agreement:
Alpha Driver Training means a Driving School that is fully register with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Queensland and employs fully accredited Driver Trainers.
Car or Vehicle means the motor vehicle used by the student to undertake their driving lesson.
Direct Deposit means the process of making a electronic deposit of funds from the student’s bank account into Alpha Driver Trainings nominated account.
EFTPOS means the process of making a electronic deposit of funds from the student’s bank account with the use of a VISA/Mastercard via a portable card reader into Alpha Driver Trainings nominated account.
Driving Test Booking Fee means fee paid to Alpha Driver Training to book your driving test with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Queensland.
Driving Test means a pre-booked driving test with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Queensland.
Instructor means a driving instructor who holds the Industry Standard Accreditation (Certificate IV Transport and Logistics – Car Instruction) and is authorised to present professional Driver Training.
Learner means the person undertaking a lesson(s) through Alpha Driver Training as notified by you at the time of the booking.
Lesson Fee means the price of the lesson(s) agreed by you at the time of booking that lesson(s).
Lesson means a motor car driving lesson provided by the Instructor through Alpha Driver Training.
Payment Methods means transfer of agreed lesson fees from the student to the instructor either by cash/EFTPOS or direct deposit into Alpha Driver Trainings nominated account.
Representative means a person(s) whom acts on the behalf of a student /learner in the purchasing or booking of driving lessons.
Student means the person undertaking paid driver training and has entered into an agreement with Alpha Driver Training to present them lessons. The student must be the minimum age of 16 years and hold a current drivers licence.
ESTABLISHMENT OF LESSONS
Alpha Driver Training provides lessons on the terms which take effect at the time of booking. Should a student or their representative book more than one lesson at the same time, the terms at the time of booking will apply to each lesson booked at that time.
BOOKING LESSONS WITH ALPHA DRIVER TRAINING
A student may book lessons by either contacting the owner/operator of Alpha Driver Training on 0413518697 or by booking enquiry via the website at www.alphadrivertraining.com.au
The standard duration of a driving lesson is 60 minutes. This includes the de-briefing of the student at the completion of the lesson. Alpha Driver Training also offers lessons of 90 minutes and 120 minutes’ duration. These times are by pre-arrangement upon booking the lesson.
The students driving lesson commences at a pre-determined location as advised by the student upon making the lesson booking. Lessons may complete in a different location from the lessons commencement. The instructor is too advised prior to commencement of the lesson if this is to occur.
PURCHASING OF LESSONS
A student or their representative making a lesson booking (whether a single lesson, package deal or special offer) will be required to pay the total cost of the booked lesson(s) in full either by cash, eftpos at commencement of the lesson or by direct deposit into the following account.

LESSON PACKAGES.
Lesson Packages of either 3, 5 or 10 lessons purchased from Alpha Driver Training are valid for 12 months only. Any lessons from the purchased package not used within that 12 month period will be forfeited and monies for those lessons are NOT refundable. In addition unused lessons from a package offer are NOT transferable with siblings, relatives or friends.
GIFT CERTIFICATE/VOUCHER
Upon purchase of a gift certificate/voucher from Alpha Driver Training the student is bound by the following;
1. Lesson fees in full or in part are not refundable.
2. Gift certificate/voucher expires 12 months from date of purchase.
3. Gift certificate/voucher is not transferable with any other driving school.
4. Gift certificate/voucher is not transferable with siblings, relatives or friends.
5. Lesson dates and times are subjected to Alpha Driver Trainings availability.
REFUND POLICY
Alpha Driver Training will agree to the full refund of driving lesson fees for lessons not yet undertaken in the event of the following circumstances;
1. An extended medical condition that inhibits the student from completing any future pre-paid lessons.
2. A medical condition that prevents the driving instructor from performing their role as an instructor.
3. Prolonged ill health of either the Student or Driving Instructor.
4. Disqualification/suspension of the Instructors Driver Licence, Industry Authority Card or Blue Card.
5. Relocation of Student outside of Alpha Driver Trainings service area.
6. Unfortunate death of either the Student or Driving Instructor.
BOOKING YOUR QSAFE DRIVING TEST
A student may book their QSAFE Driving Test either through the online booking system at www.service.transport.qld.gov.au/SBSExternal/CleanBookingDE.jsp ,or contact Transport and Main Roads (TMR) on 132 390 and simply follow the prompts. Alternatively, the student’s instructor can make your QSAFE Driving Test booking on your behalf. A reimbursement fee for the cost of making the booking will occur.
RESCHEDULING OF LESSONS
Students may reschedule a lesson, but are to advise the owner/operator of Alpha Driver Training no less than 48 hours prior to their scheduled lesson by either email, SMS or by calling 0413 518 697.
LESSON CANCELLATION
Students who chose to cancel a lesson, are to advise the owner/operator of Alpha Driver Training no less than 48 hours prior to their scheduled lesson by either email, SMS or by calling 0413 518 697. Students who fail to notify the owner/operator of Alpha Driver Training less than 48 hours will have their full lesson fee forfeited.
NON ATTENDANCE, UNPUNCTUALITY OR LATENESS
A student that fails to attend a scheduled driving lesson, Alpha Driver Training reserves the right to cancel that lesson and the student shall forfeit the full lesson fee.
A student that is unpunctual for a scheduled driving lesson, Alpha Driver Training may only be able to provide a lesson with the time remaining should they have another schedule lesson immediately following.
A student that is 10 minutes late for a scheduled driving lesson, without reasonable notification, Alpha Driver Training reserves the right to cancel that lesson and the student shall forfeit the full lesson fee.
TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
Students shall be held responsible for traffic infringement notices that arise whilst driving a vehicle provide by Alpha Driver Training.
USE OF OWN VEHICLE FOR A DRIVING LESSON
It’s understandable that a student may request to undertake their lesson(s) in their own vehicle. Alpha Driver Training can honor this request but are to be advised of the student’s intention to use their own vehicle when booking the lesson. Students are to ensure that the vehicle that they wish to conduct their lesson is registered, insured, is mechanically sound, safe and appropriately displays ‘L’ plates as required by law. Alpha Driver Training reserves the right to not undertake a lesson in the student’s vehicle should any of these requirements failed to be met.
A student’s vehicle found not to meet any of the aforementioned requirements, the lesson will be conducted in the vehicle provided by Alpha Driver Training.
A student that does wish not to proceed with the lesson in the vehicle provided by Alpha Driver Training, then the lesson will be cancelled and the student will forfeit that lesson fee.
STUDENTS CODE OF CONDUCT
Students are to adhere to the following Code of Conduct: –
To carry on their person at all times when undertaking a lesson, a current drivers licence and drive within the conditions of that licence.
To wear appropriate foot wear for the lesson so as not to compromise the safe operation of the motor vehicle. Therefore, no heels, thongs or sandals without a back strap. Flat soled enclosed shoes are recommended.
Mobiles phones are to switched off or turned to silent and are not to used whilst driving.
To act appropriately and not harass or be abusive towards the instructor.
Adhere to instructions given by the instructor.
COMPLAINTS PROCESS
Accredited Driver Trainers in Queensland are bound by a Code of Conduct. As a condition of that Code of Conduct, Alpha Driver Training employs the following course of action in dealing with complaints.
Quality of Training: Complaints regarding to the quality of the training being presented or the conduct of the driver trainer, the learner should direct their complaint(s) to the Owner/Operator of Alpha Driver Training. Should a resolution not be achieved the learner driver is to be directed to the Transport and Main Roads(TMR). The complaints to TMR should be made in writing providing all relevant details.
Criminal Nature: Issues of a criminal nature, such as assault, the complaints are to be reported to Queensland Police Service in the first instance, with advice given to the manager of the local TMR Customer Service Centre. The advice to TMR should be made in writing providing all relevant details.
Discrimination: Issues regarding discrimination (eg: ability, gender, social origin etc) the learner driver may contact the Australian Human Rights Commission, Anti-Discrimination Commission of Queensland or the Queensland Police Service.
Fee Disputes: Disagreements regarding lesson fees or matters concerning service contract, the learner driver should contact the Owner/Operator of Alpha Driver Training in the first instance. Should a resolution not be achieved, the complaint may be lodged with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading.
TERMINATION IN TRAINING
Alpha Driver Training reserves the right to terminate a driving lesson should the following incidents occur: –
Should the learner driver choose to continually drive the vehicle in a way that is explicitly against the instruction being given and is considered dangerous.
There is deliberate vehicle abuse.
The learner driver smokes during the lesson.
The learner driver engages in inappropriate conduct.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
The driving of a motor vehicle on the states roads is a privilege. A leaner driver has certain obligations; these obligations extend to Alpha Driver Training. Should any of the following apply the learner driver is obliged to inform the instructor prior to undertaking any practical driving lessons:
The learner’s drivers licence is no longer valid due to expiry, suspension or disqualification.
The learner driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The learner driver has a medical condition that may prevent them from safely controlling or operating a motor vehicle.

Whilst Alpha Driver Training provides the student/learner driver with the skills and knowledge to safely drive a motor vehicle, Alpha Driver Training makes no assurances when the student undertakes their QSAFE Practical Driving Test that they will achieve a successful result.
